Gunners Signs David Beckham’s Son

Brooklyn Beckham has just been
signed by Arsenal. Brooklyn was
wanted by Arsenal, Manchester
United and Chelsea, but after
showing his skills at the Gunners’
training ground; he was quickly
snapped up until the end of the
season.
Though the contract is a short-term
one, reports say there are
tendencies it will be renewed before

CAF drops Morocco as host of 2015 African Cup of Nations, throws out Morrocan team

The Confederation of African Football CAF today
dropped Morocco as host of the 2015 African Cup
of Nations which is billed to start from Jan 17th-
Feb 9th 2015. At an executive committee meeting
which held this morning in Cairo Egypt, CAF's
leadership said the decision to drop Morocco was
as a result of the Moroccan authority's request to
postpone the competition due to Ebola fears.
CAF leadership says they cannot postpone the
competition and have withdrawn the rights of
Morroco to host it. The Morrocan national team
was also flung out of the competition. Find the

At its meeting on 11th November 2014 in Cairo,
the Executive Committee of the Confederation of
African Football (CAF) has taken note of the
response of the Minister of Youth and Sports of
the Kingdom of Morocco in a letter dated 8
November 2014 requesting the postponement of
the Orange Africa Cup of Nations in 2015.
This response clearly indicates that the Royal
Moroccan Football Federation reiterated its refusal
to hold the competition on the dates indicated
(January 17-February 8, 2015). Therefore, having
firmly and unanimously notified on 3 November its
decision to keep the competition on the dates
indicated, the Executive Committee confirmed that
the Orange Africa Cup of Nations 2015 will not
take place in Morocco.
The Organising Committee of the Orange Africa
Cup of Nations will later apply the statutory
provisions that are required due to a breach of the
Royal Moroccan Football Federation regulatory and
contractual provisions, including those set out in
the Host Association Agreement signed between
CAF and the Royal Moroccan Football Federation
in April 2014.
The Executive Committee took note of receipt by
10 November, 2014 of some applications of
national associations confirming their desire to
host the 2015 competition on the dates agreed.
These applications are currently under review, and
the Executive Committee will finalize the selection
of the successful National Association shortly and
confirm the place and date of the draw of the final
tournament at the same time.
The Executive Committee confirms the
continuation of qualifiers match-days 5 & 6, which
will be held during the month (14/15 November
and 19 November), paving the way for the
qualification of the 15 teams that will be joining
the team of the host country. Accordingly, and
following the refusal of the Moroccan party, the
Executive Committee has decided that the national
team of Morocco is automatically disqualified and
will not take part in the 30th edition of the Orange
Africa Cup of Nations in 2015.

Nigerian Footbal Federation Sacks Super Eagles Coach, Stephen Keshi

The Nigerian Footbal Federation (NFF)
has sacked super Eagles head coach,
stephen Okechukwu Keshi, despite
recording his first win in African Cup of
Nations qualifiers last night.
The sack is contained in a
communique released by the board in
the early hours of Thursday.
The communique also indicated that the
federation is either going to replace
Keshi with Amodu Shuaibu or shop for a
foreign coach for the national team in
the long run.
However, a consortium of coaches will
lead the Super Eagles for ONLY the two
concluding matches of the 2015 Africa
Cup of Nations qualifying series (against
Congo in Brazzaville and against South
Africa in Uyo), after which an expatriate
coach will be appointed.
The consortium, led by Amodu Shaibu,
also has Salisu Yusuf, Gbenga Ogunbote
and Aloysius Agu. The team also has a
new Coordinator in former international
Garba Lawal, while Toyin Ibitoye is the
new Media Officer and Godfirst Chike,
the new Equipment Manager. Team
Secretary, Enebi Achor, is retained.
The NFF thanked Keshi and his
assistants for their services to the
country and promised to pay them all
owed monies within the next fortnight.
The NFF, in recognition of the
coaches’on tribulations to the Nigerian
game, also approved that the trio of
Keshi, Amokachi and Shorounmu should
proceed to any coaching course of their
choice in any country of their choice to
build their capacity.
Super Eagles will travel next month to
face Congo and host South Africa in
Nigeria in the last phase of the
qualifiers, and will need to win both
matches to stand any chance of
qualification for the 2015 AFCON.

South African football coach arrested in Nigeria for drug trafficking

38 year old South African football coach, Steven
Darlugar (pictured), was arrested by operatives of
the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency,
NDLEA, at the Murtala Muhammed International
Airport in Lagos for drug trafficking.
The married father of one was arrested during
screening before boarding an Arik Air flight to
South Africa. He is said to have neatly packaged
the drugs which tested positive for
methamphetamine in a compartment before it
was discovered by officials.
When interrogated, Steven said he was promised
$6,000 if he successfully trafficked the drug and
that he ventured into the crime to support his
family as the money he was making as a coach
wasn't enough
“I am married with a child and have lived in
South Africa for about a decade. I coach a
team in South Africa. I have worked very
hard to attain financial freedom, but have
nothing in return. This is my first time of
smuggling drugs. I was under financial
pressure to cope with peers. A friend
introduced me to drug trafficking as a way
of making quick money. They promised to
pay me $6,000 to take the bag containing
the drugs to South Africa.”
NDLEA commander at the MMIA, Mr. Hamza
Umar, said
“Steven was apprehended on his way to
South Africa. He was found in possession of
1.54kg of substances that tested positive for
methamphetamine. The drug was concealed
in a false compartment of the suspect’s
luggage.”

Didier Drogba retires from international football

Chelsea striker, Didier Drogba has announced his
retirement from international football. He will no
longer play for his country Ivory Coast but will
continue to play for Chelsea. See the statement
